An awesome place for trekking along the beach by either motorbike car or foot. This wild west coast beach during low tide offers about 100m of compact sand for easy driving. if you don't have a 4 wd drive, I suggest you are off the beach 90 minutes before high tide, as the soft sand further up the beach is very difficult to traverse in 2 wd. deflating tyre pressure to 15psi helps with traction on the soft sand, you'll just need to pump the up when you get back! If you do get stuck, you won't often have to wait long for someone to pass by who will likely stop and pull you out. Traveling with others is the best way to experience this and remember some walks talkies.
If you wanna to walk on the beach or drive, this beach has it, more a surfing beach but great at low tide for the kiddies, and you never know your luck you may come across one of the many ship wreaks that mysteriously uncovers for a tide and then gone
A very special beach, definitely because you can drive there by car. For this reason there is also a speed limit on the beach. During the summer there is a life guard at certain times. An ideal beach for walking, (kite)surfing, fishing and especially enjoying. We have been here regularly, summer or winter, it does not matter, it is always fun.
Note: For children it may be dangerous because of the high waves which rolling far on the beach. Parental supervision is definitely required for small children.
Absolutely amazing and beautiful beach!
But... heed the warning signs!
It is a popular place for swimming, relaxing, and surfing, but the waves and …
I love the lifeguards installed there and the safety sign it lacked in the past since it can get choppy and unpredictable currents wise. Not a swimming pool. Freedom however and a great fishing spot is guaranteed and 4wheel driving and similar adventures only welcome.
Its a beautiful beach, but I will not recommend young kids here as the beach has strong current, strong waves, no facilities and no beach patrol... We decided to just take pictures and go back to the campsite..
We were here just as the sun was darkened by the smoke from Australian fires, eerie. But the beach is amazing and suitable for 4wheel drives and horseback riding. Toilets available too, do need to be able to walk stairs.
Very cool looking beach with excellent surf on the right swell and good facilities
Couldn't believe how much was going on. People walking, swimming, riding horses, motorbikes, fishing...and plenty of room for it all to go on without bothering each other.
Beach vehicle access. Beaut spot
